Received great news a week back getting informed that I've been shortlisted for Cineleisure's Next Online Sensation 4! *confetti* And they revealed our first challenge for the competition...

On the day of the briefing, the contestants gathered at Cathay Cineleisure Orchard for a feast at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant. New faces, new friends, new challenges.

We were issued a brief, along with a personal name tag each to facilitate our filming and photo-taking at Cineleisure - basically to give us permission. A bit upset though, because I wanted "Chelsea" to be on the tag instead because as usual, everyone finds it hard to pronounce my name. :(

Sat with this lovely group of girls and coincidentally, all our names start with the letter 'C'! 'C'ool right?! Our first task was to take a wefie with one another and I taught them how to whiten their backgrounds on Instagram like mine since they asked, HAHAHA. It's nice ok?

If you head to the official CNOS4 page, you'll also get follow-ups on the constant updates from contestants! *ahem*, that's mine above ;) Thank you Beadstreet for the $10 shopping voucher! They have like a whole range of affordable and stylish accessories which I *ADORE* and should definitely check the place out if you haven't been there before! (which is pretty unlikely)

Our host for the event, Soo Wei, kick-started our mornings with her energetic spirit and sense of humour!! My favourite lines from her were, "Let me just drink some water before I cough in your faces..." and not forgetting "I only got 8 likes including my mother," when we touched the topic on Instagram likes, HAHA.

What is the competition about?

First, let me enlighten you with a brief overview of the competition. Cineleisure's Next Online Sensation 4, better known as CNOS4, is the signature social media competition which identifies youths to promote Cathay Cineleisure Orchard's attractions. Click here to find out more!

What are the challenges based on?

There are four categories which we are judged based on. This includes Fashion, Food and Entrepreneurship, Video and Virality, as well as Red Carpet Ready.

Who are the judges of this competition?

The judges are none other than the pretty Jayne Tham, multi-talented Don Richmond, as well as everyone's idol and blogger queen - Wendy Cheng (Xiaxue) herself! Nervous already.

Awesome! What are the incentives?

Attractive or what?! HAHA. But my main reason of joining the competition was because of the exposure I'm hoping to gain from it, and actually having the chance to learn from Xiaxue. But of course, who doesn't want like a larger-than-life sized poster plastered against the walls? :-)

TADAAAAAA! An OOTD (outfit of the day) showcase within the Fashion Category where contestants were randomly assigned into groups of 4 to dress up as each character in Cathay's 80th anniversary commemorative movie. Will be showing you my role in my upcoming posts ;)

So who are your group mates?

Here they are! :-) For new readers who have found themselves reading up till here, let me introduce my group members to you!

Here's Melody - a Design Student from Singapore Polytechnic who loves taking video and is also into photography. She might be a little shy initially but after slowly getting to know her through outings and shoots, you'll find out that she's a really easy person to get along with and a great helping hand!

Jason, the only guy in our group, is an Engineering Student who also comes from Singapore Polytechnic. Sadly, we found out that he has work everyday until 5pm which really impacts our group. Honestly, we felt rather disappointed initially, as it was a dreadful start of our challenge to feel like we only had 2 people in our group when Jason left early for work during our first discussion. However, as I'm typing this in the middle of our challenge period (actually, the deadline is tomorrow), I'm glad that we were still able to meet the guidelines with quality and no disputes. =) *pats all our backs*

As some of you might already know, I study in the School of Business in Singapore Polytechnic. And we realised that all of us were from SP! (cool people is it? Hehe)

And yes, you counted right - we only have a group of 3. In fact, we found out there were many obstacles we had to encounter besides dealing with the challenge with one less member. However, I'm so thankful for Melody for pulling this through with me and providing me with the group support needed to go through this week! *perseveres*

Will be posting the my final OOTD post soon, so stay tuned to it! :-)

Why are you spamming Instagram?

HAHAHA. I would like to clarify that the First Challenge is also based mostly on Instagram, which is the reason why I'm constantly posting my OOTD outfits and progress of the challenge. Hope my followers are understanding! :* (secretly happy too when my friends tell me that they've been seeing me put in so much effort)

Hope that clarified your questions! Now, let me sum up the post with some lovely dishes we had at Shokudo Japanese Restaurant, Cathay Cineleisure Orchard.

Look at these juicy glazed Chicken Wings!! Dip them into yummy yuzu sauce to satisfy those hunger pangs.

The Mount Fuji Curry Omu Rice is also a popular favourite among customers and regulars. However, Melody and I don't consume beef due to religious issues, so we had to return this dish without getting a taste off the eggs and curry :( At least someone else got to enjoy it! Haha.

I enjoyed the half-boiled jelly-like egg sitting perfectly in the middle of the Carbonara Pasta. Looks really appealing to the eyes but can you imagine how hard it was for Melody and I to finish eating all these dishes by ourselves? Haha.

Absolutely LOVE the seaweed and unagi! The pizza was served thin and crispy, with an abundance of seaweed flakes on it while Melody and I were hugely engrossed in preparation for our planning as we had a really tight schedule (I was heading overseas in a few days' time) ahead of us.

Thank you Shokudo Japanese Restaurant for having us!

So here are the hashtags and social media sites for Cathay Lifestyle. It's been a tough competition so far with really multi-talented contestants, but here's wishing my team mates and I good luck for Challenge 1!
